TITSER (TEACHER) BY INANG LAYA

Fr. Art Borja, S.J. added photos to his FB timeline attributing them to “the teleserye, “Titser.”

What came to mind immediately is not the telemovie but the song by Inang Laya from the Album: “Kalayaan: Bandaang Taong Pag-Gunita” Released: Dypro Records/Dyna Music (1998) Composed by: Becky Demetillo Abraham & Karina Constantino David, Demetillo Abraham on vocals and Karina Constantino David on guitars.

The song is in Filipino. I still have to see a video of this song with English subtitles but listening to the melody would suffice to get the message.

Lyrics:

Titser genius ka kaya?
Bukod sa lesson plan may tesis pang ginagawa.
Lagari sa tahanan, kayod sa eskwela;
Wonder Woman ka ngunit wala namang laya.

Titser ito bay himala?
Sa kay raming campus lagi kang nakikita;
nalilibot ang u-belt sa buong umaga;
