The Inglorious Fruits and Vegetables: Awareness Against Food Waste


A brilliant marketing and advertising strategy. The Inglorious Fruits and Vegetables idea in France was a win-win situation for both market sellers and consumers. Rather than wasting 300 million tons of fruits and vegetables which are not normal to the human eye, sellers could still sell them and consumers could still buy healthy and delicious fruits and vegetables much cheaper then the normal ones. It also helps to make people be aware of not wasting food. Intermarche (The 3rd largest supermarket chain in France) even made the consumers realized that these fruits and vegetables are as good as the normal ones by making fruit juices and vegetable soups for consumers to taste for them to advertise the product.
